Are you teaching a course online in the Fall or Spring semester and want to add an international element to it? Distance learning allows for new opportunities.
Bring in a counterpart professor from one of our partner universities (or a partner of your own choice) to co-teach a course, synchronously and/or asynchronously. Students earn credit at their home institution in matched courses and benefit from the perspective and expertise of a professor from overseas, as well as sharing class time with that professor’s students.
Or, for either an online or in-person course, try inviting one of your counterparts from abroad to teach a guest lecture, facilitate a discussion, offer their expertise to your students, or add to the course via Canvas. Now that we are all more familiar with online meeting platforms such as Zoom, these options have become more feasible.
The College International Office can help. Many of our partner institutions offer bachelor’s and master’s programs in English. We can connect you with counterparts, share best practices, and provide administrative guidance if needed. Even if you don’t need this assistance to co-teach a course, we would love to hear about your plans, so please contact me.
