College of Arts and Sciences study abroad programs are designed to express the College’s first-rate, interdisciplinary education marked by a firm commitment to international understanding and the liberal arts.

Our Arts and Sciences Programs for International Research and Education (ASPIRE) are closely tied to the College curriculum through meaningful international activities built on the wide range of disciplinary training, teaching experiences, scholarship, and individual strengths of our faculty, staff, and students.

Study abroad dovetails perfectly with a liberal arts education that promotes critical thinking, problem-solving, innovation, and flexibility. Our programs are comprehensive and interdisciplinary with many opportunities for learning outside the classroom.

When participating in ASPIRE Exchanges, students enroll at IU and pay IU tuition for their term abroad. They pay living expenses directly or through the partner university (campus housing). Financial aid and scholarships apply as usual.
