Traveling to + living in Greece

Student visa information: U.S. citizens studying in Greece will need to obtain a student visa.

Air travel: Exchange students will be responsible for arranging and purchasing their own round-trip international airline tickets for dates appropriate for the term at the host university. Exchange students should only purchase tickets once ACGhas confirmed the dates of arrival. Students who are nominated for the exchange are eligible to apply for a travel grant from College International.


Nearest international airport: Athens International Airport (ATH)


Housing: Exchange students live in ACG’s residence complexes a short walk from campus. Standard accommodations include two students sharing a bedroom in a furnished apartment. Meals are self-catered.

Pre-departure orientation: College International staff will provide an orientation the prior semester to help students prepare for their programs. Students on a spring exchange are invited to take GLLC-G 291 Study Abroad: Before You Go, a one-credit, second eight-weeks course in the fall term.


Departure preparation + arrival details: Students will have an orientation session with the ACG International Office. Students will have academic advisors to help with course selection.


Estimated costs per semester:

  • Tuition: IU Tuition
  • Housing: $5,480 (shared)
  • Meals, transportation, books, and incidentals: $3,500
  • IU Education Abroad administrative fee: $238
  • Plus insurance, visa, airfare
