National Chengchi University (NCCU) in Taipei is one of East Asia’s top schools, especially in the social sciences, and has a well-developed program for international students that includes Mandarin language classes. Students may study in any discipline at NCCU. Students do not need to have Chinese language skills in order to participate in this exchange, but the College encourages students to learn some Mandarin.

Course load: Students should enroll in the equivalent of 15 IU credits. Any plan to enroll in less must be approved by Pete Giordano, the advisor for ASPIRE Exchange Programs.

Grades + Transcripts: NCCU uses a grading system similar to IU's.
NCCU will provide transcripts to IU following the completion of the exchange. At the student’s request, the College will review courses to determine how they will apply to your degree. Please note that IU does not accept Pass/Fail.
Academic calendar:
Fall semester: Mid-September to mid-January
Spring semester: Mid-February to mid-June
Arrival date: 7-10 days prior to the start of courses
Early Assessment:
Fall semester students are encouraged to choose from the OIC courses, even though the selection is more limited, as they will enable students to finish the semester before they need to be back at IU for the spring semester. For other courses, the decision for early departure rests with the professor.
